It couldn’t have been more dramatic. At the Taluk office, the ‘acting’ Tahsildar and ‘working’ Tahsildar were sitting face-to-face at the two ends of the table and were passing some mild comments against each other.
“You are like my younger brother but you lodged a police complaint against me. I will sail through it but don’t be a puppet, brother,” Asha was heard advising Shiva Kumar. In response Shiva Kumar said, “I have learnt many lessons from you. Still I think you have a lot more to teach me.”
The ‘student’ Shiva Kumar did not indicate in his conversation that he had lodged a police complaint against Asha Parveen. He gave a written complaint on Saturday that Asha had broke open the lock, caused damage to public property and trespassed into ‘his’ chamber.
Based on his complaint, the KR Puram police registered a case against Asha under various IPC sections.
Asha had been transferred to the Khadi Gramodyog Bhandar last Thursday and in her place C L Shiva Kumar was posted. While Shiva Kumar was yet to assume office, Asha got a stay order on her transfer from the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT) on Friday.
On Saturday afternoon, she went to her office only to find it locked.
She broke the lock to open it and entered inside. Shiva Kumar thereafter lodged a police complaint against her.
It was a good fodder for the media persons who were pouring in at the KR Puram Taluk office to take pictures and videograph the events unfolding at the Taluk office.
As if this was not enough, the state police had engaged at least four intelligence personnel inside Tahsildar’s chamber.
One was videographing and the second was a photographer to record every developments taking place there from morning till evening.
Two other personnel were passing on information over phone. Outside too there were enough policemen and intelligence personnel informing their bosses every minutes of action.
