Excess bus pass charge to be repaid

The BMTC  and the KSRTC will begin reimbursing difference amount to student pass holders for 2012-13 on September 7.

In August this year, the government slashed student bus pass charges by 20 per cent across the State to help students.

The reimbursement will be made in a phased manner for high school students from September 7 to 13; college students from September 14 to 22; and evening college students from September 24 to 30.

The sum, to be reimbursed at 36 counters from where the student passes were issued by the BMTC, will be Rs 200 in case of 10/12 months pass, Rs 100 in case of 5/6 months pass and Rs 125 in case of 10 months high school girl student passes.

The reimbursement will only be at the counters where particular passes were issued, between 8 am and 5 pm on working days and submission of a photocopy of the pass with the acknowledgement along with the original pass is mandatory.

The reimbursement will be marked by punching hologram of student pass.
