Bengaluru: Science Gallery Bengaluru (SGB) inaugurated the ‘From the Moon to Mars’ exhibition on Saturday, exploring Italy-India space collaborations. The exhibition was produced by the Consulate General of Italy in Bengaluru.
The exhibition opened in the presence of Alfonso Tagliaferri, Consul General of Italy in Bengaluru; Veeramuthuvel, Project Director of Chandrayaan-3; Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Executive Chairperson of Biocon; and Jahnavi Phalkey, Founding Director of SGB.
This year, Italy was the country partner at the Bengaluru Space Expo, and the President of the Italian Space Agency visited Delhi.
Tagliaferri said, “People associate Italy with fashion, food and furniture, but we do much more than that. Mostly, we create precision mechanics and technology.”
The ‘From the Moon to Mars’ exhibition showcases the model of ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 Lunar module, along with models of two space launchers (LVM3 and PSLV). The inaugural session featured talks by Prof. Plinio Innocenzi on ‘Chandrayaan-3’ and future missions. The exhibition will be open until January 26.
