Taking cue from the success stories of small budget films like Paranormal Activity and The Blair Witch Project, Balaji Motion Pictures and Dibaker Banerjee took the road less travelled and decided to bank on a film that cost them an approximate one crore — Love Sex Aur Dhokha aka LSD.
Reveals a trade analyst, “In today’s day and age where producers are spending big bucks on films with huge star casts and exotic locations but suffering at the cost of a fragile script, Balaji Motion Pictures is doing a smart thing by investing less in frills and not compromising on content, that’s sure to spell success.”
LSD has also not compromised on its publicity and marketing activities. “Be it the LSD cards or the LSD Guru, the promotional videos or even the title song — the makers of LSD are making sure they are going all out to do just what they planned — shock, question and interest audiences nationwide,” adds the analyst.

When Helen, who is a devout Christian and reads a particular psalm in the Bible every morning, got to know on the sets of Dunno Y... Naa Jane Kyun directed by Sanjay Sharma that Maradona is Catholic too, she goaded him to read this psalm every morning. She did so since it preaches about being thankful to God for food, life and for being there to guide us whenever we are in trouble.
Helen was pleasantly surprised when she heard Maradona chanting the psalm by heart as she was about to read it out to him. She was impressed that though he is a 21st century boy, he knows the Bible and they could not stop smiling at each other. Surely that helped them connect more as grandmother and grandson, a relation that they share in the film.
“Helen mam was very helpful on my first day of shoot and gave me a lot of tips. I have grown-up watching her films, especially her everlasting songs and her signature dance moves,” quips Maradona.

Another film on Obama
Writer-director Subhash Kapoor of Salam India fame has launched his new project, With Love To Obama.
The film is being produced by Ashok Pandey under the banner of Revel Films.
The film stars Rajat Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Sanjay Mishra, Sumit Nijhavan, child artists Avantica and Vivake, and introduces Pragati Pandey.
It also stars Amol Gupte, who incidentally will be seen in this film after Kaminey.
The shooting for the film started in Karjat on January 26. The story revolves around the recession gifted by America to the entire world, and how it has not only affected the top corporate houses in metro cities, but also the gangsters in Uttar Pradesh.
The mixture of brilliantly talented characters and the side-splitting story line of the movie will surely turn out to be an extravaganza of entertainment.
