The accused have been identified as Peter Pal (44), resident of Anandpura on Mysore Road and V Gandhi (54), resident of Sampangi Lane in Chamarajpet.

The police have recovered 34 fake seals that bear the name of various government departments from the two men. 

The accused had rented a room above the Kamat Hotel in J C Nagar and used to generate documents transfer certificates, income, caste and death certificates and a variety of other documents.

The SI of the Kalasipalyam Police Station, Harish said that the two used the 34 seals to generate fake documents and give it the necessary authenticity. He said,  “The two learnt the trade from an auto driver who went by the name of Peter Ravi. While one used to sit at the hotel with accomplices and make the fake documents the other one hunted for customers.”

The SI added that Gandhi used to accost people that came to Taluk offices to obtain various certificates and promised to arrange it for them for money. The police also indicated that the people who bought the certificates from Gandhi and Peter were unaware of the fact that they were fake. Further investigations are on.
