Bengaluru: A large fallen tree branch on Oil Mill Road, within the Banaswadi traffic police station limits, triggered massive congestion on Monday afternoon.
Traffic spilled onto the arterial roads in the area, causing significant delays. Commuters reported that, at one point, the traffic had come to a complete standstill and that the smaller arterial roads were unable to handle the spillover as they were too narrow.
The official X (formerly Twitter) handle of the Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) posted a traffic advisory at 2.09 pm, warning of slow-moving traffic due to the fallen tree branch from Oil Mill Road towards Davis Road.
The Banaswadi traffic police stated that the branch fell due to its large size, causing it to snap off. Police personnel reached the spot and promptly cleared the obstruction.
