Bengaluru: A middle-aged man from Chamarajanagar who arrived in Bengaluru to participate in the farmers' protest at Freedom Park on Friday died after collapsing due to a health condition.
The deceased has been identified as Eshwar, aged between 50 and 55 years, from Kurubarahundi village near Gundlupete taluk in Chamarajanagar. Preliminary police information says that Eshwar had a history of blood pressure and diabetes. However, the cause of the death is yet to be ascertained.
According to police, Eshwar took a train from Mysuru to join the protest with his fellow villagers. They were walking towards Freedom Park to join the larger crowd when Eshwar collapsed near Sangolli Rayanna Circle.
“He was shifted to a nearby private hospital in central Bengaluru’s Seshadripuram, but he died in the hospital,” a police officer in the know told DH.
Police are awaiting the doctor's report to ascertain the exact cause of death and have not filed an unnatural death report or any case as of now.
