An FIR has been filed against a senior IPS officer for allegedly outraging a woman's modesty after he tried to click her pictures on his mobile phone at a coffee shop here.

P Ravindranath, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), was booked under IPC Sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) late last night, DCP (Central) Ravikante Gowda told PTI.

The woman called the High Grounds police after she saw Ravindranath clicking objectionable photos of her on his mobile.

In her complaint, she alleged that Ravindranath was clicking objectionable photos on his mobile camera, Gowda said.

However, the IPS officer said he done nothing of that sort. "There was a man sitting on the first floor who snatched my phone and alleged that I was clicking photos of the girls in the coffee shop. But I didn't do anything of that sort," Ravindranath told reporters.

Gowda said the accused would be arrested if the need arises.
