Niranjan (26), Kantharaj (25), Gopal (38), Yarab (20) and Ramesh (24), all of Attibele, allegedly beat up Antti Karppinen (28), robbed his IPod worth Rs 18,000, damaged his spectacles and fled.
The police said Karppinen, employed as process technologist with Diessen Bacher in Finland, came to Bangalore on April 23, to install at Malur a machine bought from his company by a Bangalore plywood firm.
Staying at Las Classic Hotel, Karppinen went out for an evening walk when he was accosted by the suspects, police said.

Police immediately swung into action, based on details provided by the victim and arrested the suspects on early Monday morning, added the police.
