Bangalore Development Minister K J George and Housing Minister M Krishnappa on Saturday inaugurated the new flyover at KEB Junction near Hosakerehalli.

This is part of the signal-free corridor project from Mysuru Road Junction to Central Silk Board Junction. The flyover has been built at a cost of Rs 17.82 crore under the chief minister’s Nagarothana programme.

Speaking at the event, George said, “We have been transparent in the tender process. Yet some people have charged that we have received a kickback. We do not mind these baseless charges. We neither have any kick nor back, development of all is our only aim.”

“We have bought eight robot machines to remove silt in stormwater drains. We are already using one of these machines in HSR Layout and Hennur. We have also called for tenders to maintain the machine,” said George.

BBMP commissioner N Manjunath Prasad said, “The flyover near Dollars Colony is almost 70% complete. We need to build an underpass near Muthuraj Junction, Food World Junction and Jedi Mara Junction. Mayor G Padmavathi directed the engineers to accelerate the signal free-corridor work.
