Of the departures, one was an international flight. However, there was no confirmation on the number of international flights among the arrivals.

Even Thursday had seen a lot of delays at the airport. While the actual number of delays in departure from the BIA could not be ascertained by the authorities, the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, confirmed that at least five flights that were to arrive from Bangalore were delayed.

IGI personnel said that a Kingfisher flight, which was to arrive at Delhi at 9.10 am arrived only at 12.45 pm, a jet airways flight was delayed by three-and-a-half hours, a Jetlite flight, which was suppose to have arrived at 10.15 am arrived at 12.40 pm. An Air India flight also got delayed by three hours.

The BIA normally experiences ‘radiation fog’ -  formed by the cooling of land after sunset by thermal radiation in calm conditions with clear sky - between November 13 and February 16, sometime between 3 am and 9 am.
