Former chief minister N Dharam Singh was rushed to Vikram Hospital in the City early on Wednesday after he complained of fever and difficulty in breathing.

According to doctors treating him, Singh was rushed to the emergency unit at 8.30 am. Preliminary investigations revealed that he had mild chest infection. A panel of doctors headed by Dr P Ranganath Nayak, medical director, Vikram Hospital, comprising diabetologists, pulmonologists and physicians, have been attending to him.

“Singh’s condition is stable, we have been continuously observing him. We are hopeful that he should be discharged in a day. However, he will be kept under observation for around 24 hours,” Dr Nayak added.
