Bengaluru: A foreign national was arrested with 3.186 kg of cocaine at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), officials said on Wednesday.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) made the arrest on Tuesday.

The suspect, a Ghanaian national from West Africa, was taken into custody.

"The DRI seized 3.186 kg of cocaine from a Ghanaian national at the Bengaluru Airport. One arrested," the agency said in a statement.

Sources said the DRI is questioning the suspect, whose identity has not been revealed, regarding the origin of the drugs and their intended recipient.

The agency has not disclosed details about the modus operandi as the investigation is ongoing.

This arrest follows closely on the heels of Kannada actor Ranya Rao’s arrest at KIA for attempting to smuggle 14.2 kg of gold. The actor is currently in judicial custody.
