Bengaluru: The Sadashiva Nagar police have arrested BM Mallikarjun, alias Fighter Ravi, a notorious former rowdy-sheeter, and his bodyguard Vijesh Kumar for allegedly threatening a businessman, officials said on Friday.
The complainant reported that Mallikarjun and Kumar had brandished a pistol while issuing death threats over a financial dispute.
Acting on the complaint, the police arrested the duo, who have since been remanded to custody.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Mallikarjun intervened on behalf of a person who owed the businessman Rs 75 lakh.
A case has been registered under the Arms Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Mallikarjun, known for his involvement in cricket betting, has a history of controversies.
In 2023, he sought a ticket from the BJP for the assembly elections, but was denied that. He subsequently contested as an independent candidate from Nelamangala, drawing significant media attention.
