Four arrested in separate cases for drug peddling  In the first case, the CCB received a tip-off from informants and raided an apartment in Sampigehalli in northeast Bengaluru. They found that two occupants from Kerala had stocked 1.2 kg of ganja and 209 grams of hydroganja.

Bengaluru: The Bengaluru police on Tuesday announced the arrest of four people, including two Keralites, in separate cases for allegedly indulging in drug peddling in the city.

The suspects have been identified as Alex T Varghese, 24, Jobin Kuriakose, 21, Hadhil MV, 22, and Anas Moidu, 24. The operation was carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Wing of the Central Crime Branch. The raids yielded 3.1 kg of ganja, 209 grams of hydroganja, and MDMA crystals, all worth Rs 14.3 lakh.

In the first case, the CCB received a tip-off from informants and raided an apartment in Sampigehalli in northeast Bengaluru. They found that two occupants from Kerala had stocked 1.2 kg of ganja and 209 grams of hydroganja. The suspects had been sourcing drugs from their friends in different states. However, the police are yet to investigate how they managed to procure hydroganja.

In the second case, CCB officers caught two people red-handed while selling contraband near a college in west Bengaluru’s Byadarahalli. The police seized 1.9 kg of ganja and MDMA crystals. According to the police, they had bought drugs from Mandya and sold them in the city. 

A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is under way.
