Bengaluru: Four people lost their lives and seven others were injured in two separate accidents on the outskirts of Bengaluru during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday.

In the first incident, a car carrying seven friends, on their way to find a tea shop after their New Year's celebrations, overturned near Hosapalya, killing two people on the spot.

The deceased have been identified as Manju (31) and Kiran (30), both residents of Cholanayakanahalli. The remaining five passengers sustained serious injuries and were admitted to a government hospital in Magadi.

According to the police, based on the accounts of the injured, the car swerved, lost control, and spun multiple times around 3 am on Wednesday. The impact crushed the body of the car.

Kanakapura crash 

In a second accident, a car collided with a tanker on the highway near Sathanur, Kanakapura, around 11.30 pm.

It carried a group of employees from a private firm who were returning to Bengaluru from Mysuru. 

Niranjan (47), a native of Davanagere, and Vishwanath (48), from Mysuru, seated in the front of the car, died instantly. Veeresh (40) and Ajith (24), seated in the back, were critically injured. The group worked at a private firm in Electronics City.
