Bengaluru: Two brothers who ran a restaurant in the city died after crashing their bike into an electric pole in the early hours of Thursday.

They were among at least four people killed in fatal road accidents in the city since Wednesday evening.

Shakeel Bashir (23) and Aslam Bashir (22), residents of Neelasandra and owners of a hotel in Ashok Nagar, were reportedly riding towards their restaurant around 4.45 am when they crashed into a pole near Anepalya Junction.

According to the Ashok Nagar traffic police, neither of them was wearing a helmet. Both were declared dead on the way to the hospital.

Security guard killed

Around 5 pm on Wednesday, a security guard from Assam riding a bike was killed in a head-on collision with a cab on the Mylanahalli-Hunachur Road in the northern part of the city.

Raktim Saikiya (23) and his pillion rider, Bisla Boiraj were injured in the crash, which occurred near a school in Kadayarapanahalli. However, Saikiya succumbed to his injuries while being taken to a private hospital in Devanahalli.

TN welder dies 

A 33-year-old welder, Vimal Kumar, died after crashing on the road in Shivarama Karanth Layout around 12.30 am on Thursday.

Kumar, who hailed from Tamil Nadu and lived in Lakshmipuram, Indiranagar, was returning home when he lost control of his bike on a newly constructed road in the layout, according to the Jalahalli traffic police.
