Bengaluru: A family of four was wiped out in what is believed to be a grisly murder-suicide pact in central Bengaluru’s Sadashivanagar on Monday, according to the police.

Anup Kumar, 38, Rakhi, 35, their five-year-old daughter, and two-year-old son were found dead by their housemaid on Monday morning, police said.

Police believe that the tragedy happened on Sunday night, but they are yet to ascertain the cause and confirm their suspicion.

The family hailed from Uttar Pradesh’s Allahabad and had been staying in a rented house in Sadashivanagar’s RMV Stage 2. Kumar was working as a software consultant at a private firm.

Shekhar H Tekkannavar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), said that the Forensic Science Laboratory and Scene of Crime officers are conducting a thorough search at the house for any leads or death notes.
