The incident took place in the early hours of July 3 near Garden City College when a lone pedestrian was robbed by two-wheeler-borne miscreants.

The victim filed a complaint the same day, stating that while walking home, a group on a two-wheeler snatched his bag containing gold ornaments and a mobile phone.

The police launched an investigation and traced the four juveniles within 24 hours. Their parents were informed about the incident. They brought their wards, along with the stolen 472 grams of gold, the mobile phone and the two-wheeler, to the police station. The recovered items are valued at Rs 50 lakh.

After completing legal formalities, the minors were released into their parents’ custody on July 4, the police said.
