Bengaluru: The BJP on Tuesday filed a complaint at Upparpet police station against the demolition of a compound wall at Freedom Park, saying it was done to facilitate a protest by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.

The protest will 'target the Election Commission over alleged irregularities in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections'.

In their complaint, the BJP leaders claimed that the Congress illegally demolished the historic wall and built a concrete road.

The BJP leaders urged the police to take legal action against the organisers and government officials involved.

In a separate complaint to BBMP forest officer, the BJP that large trees were cut without permission.
