French fries, French fashion, French kiss... Anything from the French soil and rest assured that a class and a quality is always associated with it.

The models at the Jean-Claude Biguine Salon at the Collective looked drenched in French fashion as they emerged after their makeover done by Patrick and launching the New Summer Look for 2009.

The theme for the look was Dandy, wherein 19th century English elegance is a part and parcel of fashion inclinations. Basically, the theme is an early 19th century European
version of ‘metrosexuals’, taking Oscar Wilde and Charles Baudelaire as inspiration.

The second look was the Balayage Gold on Brown, which combined strength and softness, golden threads and ribbons, without completely altering the distinctive character of Brunette. Says Patrick, speaking about the looks, “the colour brown is what is hot this season,  preferably worn on layered cut to make the shades move. An Indian woman is very feminine and natural, and these looks are especially created to enhance her natural beauty.” Patrick further goes on to explain the practicalities of the haircut.
“It’s a wash-and-wear look, very low on maintenance, ideal for working woman.” “The hair style suited for the person depends on the lifestyle she leads,” says Patrick, “I look at a woman and I know what kind of lifestyle she leads, and combining that with her natural face cut and features, I design a unique French hair style. The French styles and cuts can be very naturally adapted on Indian woman, and the woman love it.”

And that was obvious as the models paraded and showed off their perfect cuts, ranging from edgy elegant straight, classic messed up wavy look, and luxuriant coiffure curls. “Indians always have a misconception that they should trim their hair to keep them healthy, when in fact it ruins the volume of the hair. With a perfect cut, where hair strands are razored off the edges, there is no need of ever going for a trim,” says Patrick, sharing a haircare faux pas.

The evening ended with more hair talk, and the excited models bouncing their hair, promising to retain their dandy look for as long as possible.
