Two separate chain-snatching incidents were reported from Hanumanthnagar and Chandra Layout police station limits on Sunday.

In the first incident,  two unidentified men who came on a bike, made away with a gold chain, weighing 90 grams, of one Jayalakshmi, 60, a resident of Hanumanthanagar.

The incident occurred when she was returning home after buying medicines for her daughter around 11.20 am. She raised an alarm, but in vain. She has told the police that the miscreants came in a black-coloured bike and the rider was wearing the helmet and the pillion rider was wearing a monkey cap.

In another incident, Shanthamma, 57, putup a fight while two unidentified men, who were on a bike, tried to make away with her chain near Skyline Apartment in Chandra Layout. Around 4 pm, Shanthamma, a resident of the apartment, alighted from an autorickshaw after returning from Rajajinagar.

When she was walking towards her apartment, the two men came on a bike and snatched away her gold chain weighing 35 grams.

But the victim held on to her chain and raised an alarm. The miscreants fled the spot  with a 20 gram chain and the rest of the chain is with the victim.
