Anil Kumar V alias Anil Reddy was arrested by the Woman Protection Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB). He faces four criminal cases, including those of human trafficking and rape in Andhra Pradesh and East Bengaluru’s Mahadevapura.

According to the CCB, Kumar continued to operate a prostitution racket by trafficking women from different parts of the country.

The CCB recently wrote to Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda, requesting that the Goonda Act be invoked against him. Dayananda passed the order on December 20, and Kumar has been lodged in Ballari prison. The Goonda Act provides for imprisonment without bail for a year.
