‘Just Be’ cafe is characterised by spacious outdoor seating.

Just Be’, a vegan restaurant in Sadashivanagar, has a motive to serve health on a plate.

Outdoor seating, a green canopy, copper vessels and a quaint pastel green- grey colour scheme tones gives the place a unique personality. The backyard doubles as a space for events and workshops. Additional marks for the clean washroom while the handmade things add to the positive energy of the place.

The indoors aren’t as beautiful but still make for a good hangout option. The ceiling is filled with white paper lanterns, which gives an ethereal touch to the cafe.

The customer is given fresh mint water once seated. The menu has almost everything a person can ask for — irrespective of it being a vegan restaurant. Salads, soups, sandwiches, dips and chips, pizzas, smoothies, hot and cold beverages, desserts and more are the choices here.

The key ingredients are vegan cheese, almond mylk and coconut mylk. The kitchen has only eco-friendly utensils.

We started off the journey to a happy stomach by ordering ‘Spinach Quesadilla’ in starters. The dish arrived in less than 10 minutes; a whole wheat tortilla filled with spiced spinach, corn, jalapenos and salsa served with a beetroot hummus and cheesy dip.

Next came the ‘Hotpress Batata’ which had spiced garlic sprinkles, similar to a ‘vada pav’ but just a healthier version of it with zero oil.

The main course was the ‘Asian Curry’, which was the best of it all. It was a spiced red curry with coconut mylk, mushroom, tofu and veggies served with roasted garlic red rice.

Along with it, the ‘Just Be Signature Cooler’ was served — a glass of fresh juice of watermelon and pineapple along with a hint of basil.

Dessert was a ‘Choco-crillon Pie’; a combination of cream, chocolate, lovely textures and aesthetic plating.
