Outraged by the two men who passed lewd comments at their women friends from the North-east, a group of men beat up one of the eve teasers and broke his leg.

The three North-eastern women later filed a complaint of sexual harassment by the duo at Koramangala police station. The incident happened before Enigma pub in Koramangala where the women and their male friends had a party and waited outside for their cabs. Pradeep (24) and his friend Hemanth –who had also come for partying- passed lewd comments at the women.

The three women objected to the comments and argued with Pradeep and Hemanth. One of them called their male friends, at which nearly ten to 15 North-eastern men and women rushed out of the pub to the harassed women’s rescue.

The group nabbed Pradeep, while Hemanth fled the scene. The enraged group thrashed Pradeep and one of the men crushed his right leg with a cement bolder. Pradeep was immobile due to the fracture to his leg, but the men and women continue to kick and punch him. A bouncer from a nearby pub eventually intervened and saved him from lynching. The group fled the scene.

Pradeep lodged a counter-complaint Saturday morning against eight to ten people. He said in the complaint that a scuffle was on at the pub where he went to drink with his friend.

When he intervened, the other party began thrashed him and broke his leg.

Eastern Naga Students Union leader, Bengaluru, James Ashu: “The incident just didn’t start outside the pub. It started well inside the pub when the women were on the dance floor. Two men who came on the dance floor started touching one of the women inappropriately in the pretext of dance and tried to take a selfie with the Northeast women when she objected to it. She asked if the men would do the same with their sisters when they got irked and a scuffle started.”
