According to sources, the arrested is Shama Parveen, a Jharkhand native, who was staying with her brother, a private firm employee, at Hebbal in Bengaluru.

The ATS, along with local support from Bengaluru police, traced Shama's whereabouts and detained her. Police said Shama was unemployed at the time of her arrest.

She was then produced before a local Bengaluru court which granted the Gujarat police her transit warranty.

Sources in the state intelligence said that the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Cell officers alerted the city police of Shama's presence as she was found sharing posts on social media sympathising with radicalism and seeking support.

One of the organisations she is suspected of having links with is the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA), sources said, which is being verified.

City police are also verifying if the suspect had contact with any locals.
