The birth centenary of lexicographer Prof G Venkatasubbaiah will be celebrated from August 2012.
Director of the Department of Kannada and Culture Manu Baligar said the department would spend Rs 50 lakh on the celebration.
He was speaking at an event organised jointly by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Koravanji Aparanji Trust in Bangalore on Sunday.
The CD version of ‘Koravanji’, the first humour magazine in Kannada published from 1942 to 1967, was released.
