The arrested men are Mohammed Najash, a gym trainer, and his associates Vinu KT, 23, Sarun M, 38, Diwakar, 34, Madhu Kumar, 32, and Kiran, 29.

The incident occurred last Thursday when the two victims were hosting a birthday party at their home. Police said one of the women, from West Bengaluru, had recently met Najash and invited him to the party.

At the party, Najash and his friend Vishnu allegedly noticed the victims’ affluent lifestyle and decided to rob them. Najash then called his associates and briefed them.

The group arrived posing as food delivery agents, barged in, and claimed they were police officers conducting an inspection. They threatened to book the victims under the NDPS Act and demanded Rs 5 lakh to drop the “charges”. When the women said they had no cash, the men left with their phones and told them to pay the next day.

The victims consulted their friends and approached the police, who analysed CCTV footage and call records to identify the suspects. All six were arrested, booked, and remanded in judicial custody.
