One of the patients is a year-old girl child who arrived from Dubai on July 12, while the other is a 17-year-old girl who arrived from the United States on July 11.
The hospital screened four people on Tuesday; of them, two were admitted. Their throat swab samples have been sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune. From the three swabs collected and sent on Monday, one was confirmed positive, taking the total tally of H1N1-infected patients at the hospital to three.
RGICD director Dr Shashidhar Buggi said, “The patient is a 23-year-old woman from Chile. She came to Bangalore via Mumbai on July 10 and was admitted in the hospital two days later. However, she is now recovering.” At Lakeside Hospital, there have been no new cases.
