The High Court of Karnataka will now hear the Public Interest Litigation on potholes on Saturday.

The court's decision comes after it noted in the last hearing that the pothole case is affecting the adjudication of other matters.

While orally stating that it would hear the case on Saturdays, the court noted that the commissioner of the BBMP should pay allowances of the court officers on those days.

The court observed in the last hearing that if the BBMP fails to fill the potholes, another agency will do the job. "This decision will come through an order stating the BBMP as a failure and the same will come at a heavy price," it said.

In the last hearing, the court had also asked the two-member committee it appointed to inspect the areas where the civic body is filling the potholes and submit a report.

The matter will be heard on Saturday.
