The High Court has ordered the Chief Secretary to initiate disciplinary action against special Deputy Commissioner, Bangalore, for upholding an order of the Assistant Commissioner Bangalore (AC) that termed the alienation of petitioner’s land as illegal without examining it under SC/ST Transfer of Certain Lands Act.

The petitioner, V Sadanand, resident of Kudigere, had filed an application with the State revenue department stating that the land granted by the State was alienated illegally by his father and sought to transfer the same in his name.

However the AC, without going through the grant records, had termed the alienation as illegal. When the petitioner appealed before the special DC, the latter upheld the AC’s order. The petitioner then moved the HC.

Justice Ram Mohan Reddy, who heard the matter, has ordered the Chief Secretary to order an inquiry and take disciplinary action against the spe cial DC within three months.

GO stayed

The High Court has stayed the Government Order to cancel the APMC licence issued to Metro Cash and Carry company for a period of 30 days.
The State on July 4 had suspended the licence stating they have violated the conditions and have catered to unregistered traders.
