The High Court on Friday reserved its order in connection with a petition challenging the Bangalore University’s decision to withdraw recognition of study centres in the City.
Hearing a petition by Oceanic Education Society and nine others, challenging the withdrawal of recognition of 38 study centres (registered under Directorate Correspondence course and Distant Education) across the City, Justice Ashok B Hinchigeri reserved the orders.
The petitioners had moved the High Court alleging that the varsity decision was discriminatory in nature as the study centres associated with Syndicate members of the university were not derecognised.
The varsity had withdrawn the recognition citing non-affiliation, beyond jurisdiction and lapse of the MoU period.
