The High Court of Karnataka has ordered its registrar general to place all records of the case pertaining to the disappearance of Kumar Ajitabh, a software engineer, before it on Thursday.

Justice Aravind Kumar issued the directions on Tuesday and adjourned the hearing into a petition for CBI probe into Ajitabh’s mysterious disappearance.

Ajitabh (29) had left home on December 18, 2017, purportedly to meet a prospective buyer of his car that he had put up for sale on OLX. There is no news of him ever since. The jurisdictional Whitefield police which opened a case following a missing complaint from his family haven’t found a single clue.

Ajitabh’s father, Ashok Kumar Sinha, filed a petition in the high court seeking a CBI probe into the case and cited the lack of progress in the police investigation. The high court wasn’t impressed with the status report in the case filed by the state government.
