The high court has stayed construction on a 35-acre plot of government land at Mallasandra.
A division bench under Chief Justice Abhay S Oka gave the interim order on Tuesday on a PIL petition filed by Sri Muttumariyamma Trust, T Dasarahalli. The land was classified as Kharab land, meaning it's unfit for agriculture, the petitioner said, adding land sharks had grabbed it and the government failed to protect it.
The court ordered the BBMP chief to filed a report on December 12 after conducting a spot inspection and ensure no further construction.
