Bengaluru: A police constable died after his two-wheeler collided head-on with a lorry on Tumakuru Road in northern Bengaluru on Sunday, officials said.

Mahesh, who was posted at the Magadi Road station in northwestern Bengaluru, was returning from Nelamangala when the lorry struck his two-wheeler around 10:30 am. He sustained injuries to the head, face and chest, and died subsequently. 

A native of Nelamangala, Mahesh had worked at the Peenya police station before being transferred to Magadi Road about four years ago. He was working to trace a vehicle involved in a road accident on November 19, officials said.
