While three flights were delayed, one IndiGo flight on the way to Bengaluru from Delhi was diverted to Coimbatore, KIA officials told DH.

Meant to land in Bengaluru at 2.26 pm, the flight Indigo 6E 2434, was diverted due to extremely low visibility.

It returned to Bengaluru after almost two hours, at 4.29 pm. “Unable to land, the pilot went around for sometime, hoping for better weather conditions. When the conditions didn’t improve, the flight was diverted,” said airport sources.

On Tuesday afternoon, Indigo posted a travel advisory on X, warning passengers about the heavy rains.

“It is pouring steadily across Bengaluru, and several key routes are already being affected. This could mean longer, slower journeys to the airport. If you are travelling today, please check your flight status before you leave and allow for extra travel time. We also recommend using a maps app to find clearer routes. Our teams are closely monitoring the weather and are at the airport to assist you. Thank you for staying patient with us as we help you get to your destination safely.”

As per KIA officials, the KIA station recorded 54.5 mm of rainfall till Tuesday evening.
