In a press release issued on Thursday, the police said that this was being done to facilitate the installation of steel girders for the new ramp coming up at the Hebbal flyover. The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has taken up this work, which was due to complete by May-end.

The new ramp or loop will connect people coming from the KR Puram and Nagavara side towards Hebbal, Mehkri Circle and the heart of the city independently, without merging with the existing flyover.

Due to this work, the Hebbal flyover will remain closed at night time.

Alternatively, people coming from Yelahanka and the international airport side to the north of the flyover can take the service road below, take a right at Hebbal Junction, reach Kuvempu Circle and take a left onto New BEL Road, and continue to the city via Mehkri Circle.
