House break-in cases: 3 arrested

In two separate cases, three burglars were arrested by the East Division police and nearly 2 kg of gold jewellery were recovered from their possession.

City Police Commissioner T Suneel Kumar said one of the arrested accused has been identified as Kantharaj (42), a resident of Peenya and native of Chikkaballapura. Around 1.19 kg of gold and 900 grams of silver ornaments were seized from him, Kumar said. "With his arrest, we have solved 13 house break-in cases registered in various police stations across the city."

The police said Kantharaj used to identify locked houses in the afternoon and at night, used to break in and steal the valuables. He use to later hide the loot in the gutter.

In a related case, the police arrested Pandiyan (27), a native of Vellur, and Annamalai (25), who hails from Chennai, over house break-in charges, and seized 569 grams of gold. With their arrest, the police have solved four cases.
