When Pranitha Subhash decided to enter the Kannada film industry, she didn’t want to do many films.
She was firm on not juggling more than two projects at a time.
However, the young lady not only became a popular face in the Kannada film industry but also began getting offers from the other language industries such as Tamil and Telugu.
“I would never decline a Kannada movie unless I am really hard-pressed for dates. I began my career here and would like to work in as many Kannada projects as I can. I would also like to explore opportunities in the other industries,” confesses Pranitha.
She has signed up for a Kannada movie titled ‘A Second Hand Lover’, which is a romantic story.
“The title of the film has already raised the expectations of the people. I’ve always believed that the title of a movie is one of the most important components in the making and marketing of a movie,” she states. Pranitha also informs that she has been reading a few more scripts in Kannada and will finalise them as soon as the dates match.
Pranitha is still wallowing in the success of her recently-released Tamil film, ‘Masss’ opposite actor Suriya.
“This is the first time that we have tried to mix commercial elements with a horror genre. The combination seems to have clicked among people. The movie is doing exceptionally well,” explains Pranitha.
About her co-star Suriya, Pranitha says that she found him extremely warm and approachable.
“Even after all these years in the industry, Suriya continues to prepare for every role and puts in a lot of effort to render performances that are intense,” she adds.
She prefers to term her role in the movie as a “subtle” yet a “mature” one.
She has also signed up for a Telugu project opposite Vishnu and the role requires her to do a couple of action sequences.
“The character requires me to jump off a building, precariously hang on to a ladder and even run through a wall of bricks! This is the first time that I will be doing such stunts,” she adds.
