The FIR was registered on Tuesday following a complaint by a KAS officer. The police first registered an NCR (non-congnisable report) and converted it to an FIR following a city court order.

The police have invoked BNS Section 257 (public servant in judicial proceeding corruptly making report, etc, contrary to law) and launched investigations.

In his complaint, Prashanth Khangouda Patil accused Vasanthi Amar BV, who was the Special Deputy Commissioner-3, Bengaluru North, at the time of the incident, of passing an illegal order on a land located in Dasanapura.

As per the FIR, the incident occurred between June and September 2024.
