The Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore (IIMB) is all set to introduce two new courses that integrate analytical rigour with applied learning – BSc (Honours) in Economics with a minor in Data Science and BSc (Honours) in Data Science with a minor in Economics. IIMB will start offering the two new programmes from the 2026-27 academic year at its new campus in Jigani.
The two new programmes, hailed as a ‘pioneering initiative’ by the IIMB, blend aspects of Data Science, Economics and Business Studies. The programmes place an onus on analytical reasoning and professional readiness, which it aims to cultivate through internships, research and global exposure. “The total intake for the two courses will be 80 – 40 for each – the cohort structure enables focussed learning, personalised attention and close faculty interaction within IIMB’s distinctive academic environment,” read IIMB’s statement to the press.
Aspirants can attempt the Undergraduate Admissions Test on December 13, 2025, which will be followed by interviews in January next. The results will be declared on February 28, 2026.
