Bengaluru: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate rainfall for Bengaluru for the coming week.

IMD said that on August 10, Bengaluru Rural is likely to see high rainfall, while the intensity of the rains in the city would be moderate. The rains would be widespread for the day, IMD said.

Parts of the city on Saturday evening witnessed light to moderate rainfall.

Slow moving traffic due to waterlogging was witnessed in these areas: Veerannapalya Ramp towards Hebbal, Kuvempu Circle to Bhadrappa Layout, M S Palya to GKVK and vice versa, Nagawara to Hegde Nagar, Kasturi Nagar to Ramamurthy Nagar, BEL Circle junction to Gokula Road, Hebbal to Yelahanka, RP Road junction to P G Halli, and Lumbini Garden to Veerannapalya, as per the traffic police.

“Generally cloudy sky. Moderate rains or thundershowers at isolated places are likely,” the Met department said in a statement.

According to the IMD, in the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 29 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was 21.5 degrees Celsius. IMD said that the temperature would likely hover between 30 and 21 degrees Celsius till August 13.

“Thunderstorms with lightning are likely to occur at isolated places over South Interior Karnataka on 10 August. Gusty wind with wind speed reaching (30-40) Kmph likely over South Interior Karnataka on 10 August,” the IMD said in a statement.
