Bengaluru: In the run-up to the seventh edition of the India Manufacturing Show (IMS), multiple industry representatives gathered for a curtain raiser event in Bengaluru on Saturday. IMS is scheduled to take place on November 6 and 8.
The three-day event is being jointly organised by Laghu Udyog Bharati-Karnataka and India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML) in association with the IMS Foundation. It will take place at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Tumakuru Road.
Themed around "Making India Future Ready", IMS will largely focus on six-core manufacturing verticals — including Defence and Aerospace, Automation and Robotics, Electrical and Electronics, General Engineering (including Engineering Machinery and Material Handling), Pumps and Valves, and Testing and Measuring Equipment.
"We will bring attention to key macroeconomic indicators, policy incentives, and technology trends shaping these sectors. We aim to inspire investment, collaboration and innovation," said Srinivas MG, director (projects) of India Exposition Mart Limited, sharing key highlights about the upcoming event.
The event is slated to generate business leads worth Rs 450 crore, see over 400 exhibitors and 25,000 visitors.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the expo, with cabinet members including HD Kumaraswamy, Minister of Heavy Industries & Steel, and Pralhad Joshi, Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and New and Renewable Energy, also slated to attend the event.
Speaking at the curtain-raiser event, Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Manoj Jain, emphasised that quality and certification were non-negotiable in the aerospace and defence sectors — billing it as an “Aerospace & Defence Engineering Expo". “MSMEs must align with stringent quality and certification standards if they are to be part of the global supply chain,” he stated, adding that flexibility, without compromising regulatory compliance, was essential from both major industries and MSMEs.
Some major companies set to participate in the expo include Defence Research and Development Organisation, BEL, and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research.
