The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said that the curtailment was necessary to facilitate scheduled maintenance on the Purple Line between the Swami Vivekananda and Baiyappanahalli metro stations from 7 am to 8 am.

Metro services on all other sections — Challaghatta to Indiranagar, Baiyappanahalli to Whitefield (Kadugodi), and Madavara to Silk Institute — will operate as per the regular Sunday schedule, from 7 am onwards.
