The first attack occurred at 9.30 pm on 4th Cross when Kadamba, the suspect, stopped Jashwanth P, 19, who was out on his Honda Activa 5G to fetch drinking water.

Jashwanth told the police that Kadamba, brandishing a knife, got on his scooter and forced him to ride. When Jashwanth took a left instead of a right as instructed, Kadamba stabbed him in the neck and fled. Jashwanth was later rushed to a hospital.

Minutes later, at 9.35 pm, Kadamba targeted Mahesh Sitapati S, 23, an off-duty security guard who had stepped out to buy diapers for his daughter.

Near a store opposite a chicken shop on 5th Main, 1st Cross, Kadamba asked him in Hindi whether the shop was closed. When Sitapati responded casually, Kadamba grabbed his hair, dragged him aside, and stabbed him in the neck before fleeing towards 100 Feet Road.

At 9.40 pm, Kadamba approached Deepak Kumar Varma, 24, a pani puri vendor opposite Kund Indian Barbeque, demanding a plate of chaat.

When Varma informed him that the masala was over, Kadamba waited until the other customers left, then stabbed him on the left side of his neck while muttering abuses in Tamil and Hindi, according to the FIR.

Minutes later, Kadamba attacked another pani puri vendor, Tammaiah, 44, opposite Mi Home on 100 Feet Road.

Before eating, Kadamba demanded the UPI scanner, then claimed it was not working. When Tammaiah asked him to pay Rs 30 in cash, Kadamba stabbed him in the jaw in a fit of rage.

Hours later, at 2.30 am on Sunday, Kadamba attempted to attack Adil, 24, near 80 Feet Road.

Although he failed to stab him, he fled with Adil’s Suzuki Access scooter and Vivo V25 phone after pretending to ask for a ride to the Krishnarajapuram railway station.

All victims described the attacker as wearing a black cap, red T-shirt, and white trousers at the time of the assault.

A senior police officer told DH, “All victims are out of danger.”
