The fest, held on Saturday and Sunday at the newly inaugurated Kempapura Sports Complex and two other indoor sports venues, featured badminton, cricket, table tennis, swimming, carrom, tug-of-war, basketball, and football.

Over 250 apartment complexes participated, with Purva Graces Apartment winning the award for highest participation with over 80 participants. Over 100 athletes, both men and women, were honored with awards and certificates on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Gowda said: "Children today spend all their time playing games on mobile devices, resulting in poor physical health. Sports can serve as both a remedy and an inspiration to guide the younger generation away from such distractions. Most apartment residents are part of the IT-BT sector and are deeply engrossed in their work, with little awareness of the outside world. Events like this sports festival encourage such individuals to step out of their apartments and mingle with society."

He said three modern indoor sports complexes had been constructed in Byatarayanapura equipped with yoga, Zumba, gyms, synthetic badminton courts, swimming, and table tennis facilities.

He announced plans to construct another advanced sports complex in Bagalur for Rs 4 crore.
