Bengaluru: The National School of Drama (NSD) in the city is hosting the Bharat Rang Mahotsav (BRM).

Called ‘Bharangam’, the theatre fest is the world’s largest theatre festival. It is being conducted in collaboration with Karnataka Nataka Academy. The festival began on Feburary 1 and will go on till February 8, according to the organisers. 

The slogan for this year’s Bharangam is 'One Expression, Supreme Creation', resonating with the spirit of unity in creative expression and the oneness of all. Actor and NSD alumnus Rajpal Yadav has been named the Rang Doot (Festival Ambassador) for this year. 

Some of the upcoming shows include 'Mai Ri Main Ka Se Kahun', written by Vijaydan Detha; 'Taj Mahal ka Tender' by Ajay Shukla; 'Romeo and Juliet' by William Shakespeare; 'Paakudu Raallu' by Raavuri Bharadwaja; 'Yayati' by Girish Karnad; and 'Jasma Odan' by Shanta Gandhi.
