Bengaluru: ISKCON Bengaluru will be celebrating Sri Krishna Janmashtami at Hare Krishna Hill, Vaikuntha Hill and KTPO, Whitefield on August 15 and 16.
The two-day event will include elaborate abhishekas, aratis, chappan bhog, pushpanjali seva, pallaki utsav and jhulan seva for Lord Krishna at all three venues. The deities will also be offered a special bhog of 108 delicacies.
The temples will be ornate with colourful flowers, intricate decorations, lights and festoons. The presiding deities will be adorned in new vastrabhushana and exquisite flower garlands on this occasion. A grand abhisheka has been planned.
This will be followed by an arati and offering of varieties of traditional food preparations. An elaborate midnight abhisheka will be performed on August 16 to celebrate Lord Krishna’s appearance. There is an Ananda Mahotsava at KTPO, Whitefield as a part of the Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations. Musical performances by Sid Sriram, a renowned Carnatic musician and playback singer and Sadho the Band, a leading folk-fusion band, are among the highlights of the event.
