People gathered outside the Geometry Brewery and Kitchen, where an unknown man, allegedly armed with a pistol, stole Rs 50,000 in cash in the early hours.

When DH visited the spot, passersby and residents had begun speculating about what had happened.

"Apparently, the security guard saw a gun, but it was dark and very early. Nobody knows how the intruder escaped either," said a regular at a pub opposite Geometry.

Although some people were seen walking in and out of the establishment, they remained silent and refused to share any details.

Police constables stood as onlookers after senior officers, including the DCP, left for the Subramanya Nagar police station.

Traffic moved as usual, slightly affected by media vehicles and police jeeps parked in front of the building. A few stores opposite the brewery remained open, while some had their shutters down. Regular commuters confirmed the closures were unrelated to the incident.

A tender coconut vendor, Cheluvaraya, told DH, "I arrived to start my business at 6 am and noticed police officers. It looked serious. I was told there was an armed robbery around 3.30 am, but nobody knows the exact details." He continued selling tender coconuts under a tree beside the brewery.

Some of his customers discussed the incident, while others stopped to ask about the police presence.
