Congress workers held a protest outside the Income Tax department office on Infantry Road. They alleged the “only aim of the present dispensation is to influence the election through the process of searches and raids under Income Tax Act”. Three party workers splashed a black ink on one of the boards outside the IT office. The police immediately derailed the three and whisked them away.
The Congress party workers, led by Shantinagar MLA N A Harris gave a submission to the DCIT (Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax). The representation further stated that a senior IT official has been threatening of raids.
